FONTES: a European project to better exploit medieval and modern sources

Over the past twenty years, the digitisation of medieval and modern legal documents has revolutionised the daily life of historians: hundreds of thousands of ancient manuscripts are now easily accessible. However, there is a growing lack of skills to properly exploit this treasure. FONTES, a European project in which the University of Fribourg is participating, aims to fill this gap.

FONTES online meetings

On 9 March and 14 April 2022 another FONTES online meetings were held. Both were devoted to discuss the division of the four thematic units that constitute the core of the teaching and handbook parts of the project.

First official “kick-off” meeting

On 21 January 2022, the entire project team members held the first official “kick-off” meeting. Hosting partner of this on-line conference was Palermo University. Everybody was virtually present: Beatrice Pasciuta, Emanuele Comte, Guido Rossi, Sonia Merli, Ignazio Alessi, Kacper Górski, Krzysztof Fokt, Maciej Mikuła, Marta Cerrito, Morena Rizzo, Noëlle-Laetitia Perret, Paolo Napoli, Łukasz Marzec.
